Meet Ashley, one of the newest members of our Community Health team!
Ashley joined us back in September, as the MAS Community Health Recruitment Manager. Alongside her fellow recruiters, Ashley works hard to help our pediatric and adult clients throughout the state of Maine!
After several years of working in the community health industry, Ashley has some great advice to offer those who are interested in working within the community health industry. Keep reading to learn more!
What has your journey with MAS been like so far?
Being able to connect, collaborate and ultimately evolve Community Health and the services provided with like-minded people daily has honestly been a dream come true! Having the ability to work from the comfort of my own home has also allowed me to dedicate more time and focus on my career without the stress of commuting.
What made you choose a career in the Community Health Industry?
My passion for helping others! I have worked directly in the field of Community Health for over a decade. Now I can take my experiences and use them to help shape our interviewing and onboarding process from an operational perspective which I love. I am very excited to be the spearhead when MAS Community Health expands into other states too!
What do you think people need to know about working in the Community Health Industry?
You are an advocate that ultimately bridges the gap between struggling clientele and the services they deserve. Although this population can be difficult to work with at times as they are facing their challenges it is the most rewarding industry to work in. For every tough moment, there is always a magical moment that follows and reminds you of the difference you are truly making within your client’s life.
What is your favorite part of working with MAS Community Health?
Conducting interviews and the MAS environment as a whole!
I love being able to connect with a candidate virtually face-to-face for an interview. Having more than a decade’s worth of experience working directly in the field myself, I enjoy hearing others talk about similar experiences to mine.
Whether its team outings, themed days like flannel Fridays, or cheering each other on with bonus points through Bonusly, I love the team spirit MAS upholds. I’ve never worked for a company like this before where everyone works flawlessly as a team-it’s truly inspiring to see especially across divisions!
If you could offer any advice to individuals looking for a career in Community Health, what would it be?
If you have a passion for helping others but don’t know where to start, our team will help answer all of your questions!
