Gabby has been working with MAS Community Health and our clients in our Maine office for over 11 years. We asked Gabby some questions about her role at MAS and the importance of the work she is doing. What made you choose a career in Community Health?
I always wanted to work with children, and help those that are often misunderstood or overlooked.
What does a typical day look like while working with clients?
Patience is the most utilized quality, any day can be either smooth or hectic depending on the individual, the diagnosis, and the environment. Coping skills are imperative for all individuals involved and a positive attitude can be contagious!
What is one thing you think people should know about the importance of Community Health?
We have the potential to affect others in a positive way. We all grow through this experience; you can learn just as much from a client as they can from you.
What is your favorite part about working with MAS Community Health?
Meeting different people. Sharing new experiences with clients.
If you could offer advice to those thinking about a career in Community Health what would it be?
This profession is for those looking to positively impact others; consistency and flexibility are crucial.
